In 2009, IPPAG started implementing a unique and advanced "Responsible Sourcing" program. In response to increasing demands from major clients and international brands, and in line with IPPAG’s commitment to responsible sourcing, certified social audits are carried out among a wide range of our overseas manufactures.

Thus creating a network of certified suppliers covering all needs for tenders, procurement and incentive programs, and all high profile promotional operations.

This gives Langhoff the most appropriate and the best of capabilities in terms of insuring high quality and safe sourcing for large-scale production.

What is a social audit?

A social audit is a procedure wherein the cooperative assesses its social impact and ethical performance. It enables the cooperative to develop a process whereby it can account for its social performance and evaluate its impact in the community and be accountable for its decisions and actions to its regular members.

When do we need a social audit?

There is no rule for when you need to conduct a social audit unless your company has standard procedures that requires social audits for all purchases of promotional products. Langhoff suggests that you request to see a social audit from the manufacturer when you place high volume orders that are produced overseas. However, have in mind that audited manufactures for obvious reasons not always are the cheapest manufacturer so you need to ask yourself what is most important: Responsible sourcing of products carrying your brand logo or small savings on your marketing budget.

Who should undergo the audit?

Langhoff Promotion, as a distributor of promotional products, can undergo a general accrediation. However, the social audit should be carried out by a third party inspection company at the manufacturing plant of the products. Langhoff works with Asia inspections, who continuously carry our social audits among a wide range of our overseas manufactoring partners.

What if we have our own social audit requirements?

If you have your own audit requirements and partners we can help you carry out the audit upon order placement. If our inspection partner, Asia Inspection, is an accredited partner with your procurement, we can try to source the inquired product from already audited manufactures to speed up the process.
